Mission Statement of the MVAA

The Military & Vintage Aircraft Association (MVAA) of Oklahoma is an AMA sanctioned club formed in 2009. The membership is composed of model aviators throughout the State of Oklahoma who have a passion for all types of Military aircraft (Warbirds) and the nostalgia of Vintage aircraft. The purpose of the Association is to promote the safe operation of Military and Vintage radio control model aircraft. A particular emphasis of this Association is focused on Youth Aviation Activities designed to educate our youth in Aviation Operations and Airworthiness career fields. Activities of the MVAA membership will support aviation activities throughout the region by providing demonstrations and displays at schools, public gatherings and aviation museums. Upon request, the MVAA will provide static and flight demonstrations at other radio control model airfields and community airports.

The premier event that the MVAA promotes is the annual "Warbirds Over Oklahoma" which, this 7th season, will be on May 13 - 15, 2011 hosted at the El Reno Regional Airport. The MVAA is the host Association and has teamed up with the Oklahoma Museum of Flying, the City of El Reno, OK, the El Reno Regional Airport, the El Reno Convention & Visitors Bureau and several great Sponsors to bring you one of the premier radio control Warbird events in the country.

Thanks to the tremendous air support and superior ground operations, Warbirds Over Oklahoma 2010 was a huge success. The skies over El Reno Regional Airport (AKA: Mustang Field) has not seen this much military activity since WWII. I want to relay a message from our Airfield Operations Officer and airport manager, Rick Mullaney; "Great event and my dad was totally caught off guard with his FAA Wright Brothers 50 Year Master Pilot Award".
